Workshop Facilitators
Paula Hocking Community Dance Leader leads a fun and relaxed workshop to introduce skills and build confidence. This session is suitable for all abilities - young people with learning difficulties will need extra support.
Tonic Project is a dance initiative in Plymouth that specialises in providing inclusive dance experiences. Delivered by Sue Smith and Kuldip Singh-Barmi the Tonic Project aims to offer fun, challenging, provocative dance workshops to all who take part. Often reaching beyond the dance studio, Tonic Projects encourage independent thinking, creative problem-solving and a freedom of movement to all participants. For those coming to dance for the first time, improvers, old hands and experts!
Sue Smith and Kuldip Singh-Barmi, were members of CandoCo Dance Company for many years. They have both worked nationally and internationally on dance projects for disabled and non-disabled people and continue to advocate for inclusion in dance across the sector. They have worked as professional dancers for choreographers including Lloyd Newson, Kompany Malakhi, Siobhan Davies and Theatre de Complicite. Sue is currently Choreography Lecturer at Dartington College of Arts.
